Florida Contribution Limits


A candidate may not accept contributions after the date he or she withdraws his or her candidacy, is defeated, or becomes unopposed or is elected. A candidate is unopposed when the following occurs:

(1) The qualifying period is over and no other candiate qualifies for the same office.
(2) The first primary is over and the candidate has no opposition in the second primary or general election.
(3) The second primary is over and the candidate has no opposition in the general election.

Note
Any contribution received by a candidate after being notified by the qualifying officer that he or she has become unopposed as a result of an independent or minor party candidate failing to obtain the required number of signatures shall be returend to the contributor.
